If You Don’t Go, Who Will?
A golden opportunity is within your reach to show the establishment that you choose liberty over statism! It’s called the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC.
Every year organizations rally at CPAC to share ideas, tune in to issues-based information, and spectate as potential leaders jockey for position.
Liberty needs good lobbyists. That’s where you come in. By sending a strong contingent from the Campaign for Liberty, we shake up the whole conference.
The part of the event that often makes headlines is the presidential straw poll. As you may remember, Ron Paul won the day at the last CPAC gathering.
Campaign for Liberty has purchased a group of tickets at a discount. By using our special state authorization code (WA), you can score tickets and lodging at a significantly reduced rate.

Help Stop Automatic Ticketing Machines in Mukilteo
As reported recently in the Mukilteo Beacon article, Lights, camera – tickets!:
Mukilteo City Council drove around in circles discussing the pros and cons of traffic safety cameras Monday before voting 4-2 to approve installation of two in town – one to monitor the speed in the school zone outside Olympic View Middle School, the other to cover the traffic signal at Harbour Pointe Boulevard North and SR 525.
Setting aside the unsettling fact that the Council waited until a known opponent of the plan on the Council was out of town to make this vote, shouldn’t the voters be allowed to weigh in on this important issue?
You might be surprised to learn that studies have shown that automatic red light ticket cameras actually make intersections less safe. Why? In order to avoid a ticket, drivers end up slamming on the breaks.
Most drivers to try to obey the rules of the road but – it’s not just a rumor – the yellow light cycle is often shortened on intersections with red light cameras. Not only that, studies also show that many “violations” detected by these automatic ticketing cameras are actually right turns where the driver didn’t pause quite long enough to be detected by the camera.
Unfortunately, the real driving force behind red light cameras is revenue. The companies that lease these automatic ticketing machines are for-profit companies. The municipalities that make use of them get hooked on the revenue stream and won’t give them up.
Please join Washington State Campaign for Liberty and Ban Cams – Washington State collect signatures for Mukilteo Initiative 2 – “LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE ON RED LIGHT CAMERAS IN MUKILTEO”.
- WHAT: Petition Gathering
- WHEN: Saturday, Jun 5th and Sunday, Jun. 6th – meet at 3:30, gather signatures from 4pm-6pm
- WHERE: Meet other volunteers in the parking lot of QFC in Mukilteo
See you there!
